Famous Hollywood Movie Locations That You Must Visit

If you ever watch a movie and think about the possibility of visiting the places shown on the screen, then there is good news for you. Many movie locations exist in real and you can visit them. Sounds exciting, right! These locations can either be in a town nearby you or somewhere in another continent.

If you are a movie fan, then you can watch your favorite movies again using Mediacom Cable Service. Or better yet, you can visit these locations and experience everything for real. Here are a few famous movie locations that you can visit and relate to them when you see them again:

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Location: The Art Institute of Chicago (Chicago, Illinois)

The John Hughes movie was shot in North Shore. One thing that you must have noticed is that one of the most notable sequences of the movie was filmed in the Art Institute of Chicago. Cameron (Alan Ruck), Ferris (Matthew Broderick), and Sloane (Mia Sara) linked hands with little kids and posed in front of the pictures and Mia Sara even got lost while gazing at a picture.

Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade

Location: Al Khazneh, (Petra, Jordan)

The giant sandstone temple located in Jordan attracts a lot of tourists for many reasons. One of the reasons is that the place was featured in one of the famous Indiana Jones movies, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. The place doesn’t hold the actual Holy Grail, but it is one of the most amazing and historical tourist spots people can ever visit. The place has one of the most elaborate, hand-carved temples that you can find in the ancient city of Petra.

Escape from Alcatraz

Location: Alcatraz, (San Francisco, California)

You might get all confused about Alcatraz because it looks like the fictional jail of Azkaban. But, Alcatraz is one of the real places that once served as a functional jail that was home to some major criminals including Al Capone. People who want to take a tour of the place can travel via ferry and explore the place

Location: Art Museum Steps, (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)

You can run outside the place just like Rocky did in the footsteps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Or, you can simply do the “Rocky Steps: on the iconic 72 steps that lead to the museum’s entrance. These are the same steps where Rocky used to train. The place has a statue of the fictional boxer as well.

Public Enemies

Location: Biograph Theatre (Chicago, Illinois)

The people who live in Chicago know Biograph as the place where Dillinger was shot. But if you don’t recognize the place in one go, then you might remember it from the movie “Public Enemies”. The movie featured Christian Bale, Johnny Depp and Billy Crudup. The movie is set during the Depression-era where a robber named John Dillinger always managed to elude the police with his smartness. He was shot down outside the Biograph which is still a theatre just a small distance away from DePaul University

Location: Bates Motel (Universal Studios, California)

You can see a few movie sets at Universal Studios, California. But none of them are as good as the famous Bates Motel. The house and the motel were both built for the movie on the Universal Lot. If you are a fan of the show “Bates Motel”, then you’ll find the recreations of the home and hotel that were built in British Columbia, pretty fascinating.

Location: Buckingham Palace, (London, England)

Although Paddington’s character was a CGI, one can go to Buckingham Palace in London and take photographs of the place, to their hearts’ content. Also, one can go on and take a tour and get acquainted with the place.

Harry Potter Series

Location: Christ Church Cathedral, (Oxford, England)

The exterior shots of the Harry Potter series used a regular ‘muggle’ church to represent the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The graphics and other effects make the church appear as something associated with the world of wizards and witches and other mystical creatures. The interior of the church served amazingly for the great hall of Hogwarts and you can take a tour of the church to see it as well.

You can witness the level of effort and the level of creativity the entire team of a movie puts into executing a project. These guys tend to put their heart and soul and pay attention to every minor detailing while designing characters, writing the scripts, selecting the shooting time, the location where the movie shoot is supposed to take place and many other aspects that make a masterpiece. The location of the movie according to my analysis is the most critical thing that goes into the producer’s or a movie director’s mind.
